There comes a point in life when you realize that beauty isn’t just about what we wear or where we live. It’s about what we’ve lived through to get there.
For me, the most meaningful kind of beauty has always been rooted in transformation. Taking life’s disappointments, detours, losses, and quiet victories and allowing them to shape us into something wiser, softer, stronger, and more authentic.
That’s the journey I’ve been on.
When I stepped away from the music industry years ago, I wasn’t stepping away from creativity. I was discovering new ways to express it. I restored homes, collected & sold antiques, immersed myself in design, and learned from extraordinary designers and creatives. Along the way, I realized how much I had inherited from my mother, a woman I lovingly call the Black Martha Stewart. She taught me that home isn’t just a place. It’s an extension of the soul.
Those years weren’t a pause.
They were preparation.
Returning to music after nearly two decades has awakened every creative part of me. Fashion inspires me differently. Design has new purpose. Travel opens my eyes in new ways. Every opportunity reminds me that our gifts never truly leave us, they simply wait for us to pick them up again.
That’s what The Modern Muse is really about.
Not perfection.
Becoming.
Choosing faith over fear. Saying yes to new beginnings. Believing there’s always another chapter waiting to be written.
So yes, you’ll find beautiful fashion, inspiring interiors, unforgettable destinations, and stories that celebrate creativity. But beneath it all, I hope you’ll also find something more lasting: the reminder that the most beautiful life isn’t the one without challenges, it’s the one transformed by them.

Long before The Modern Muse, I spent years restoring homes and studying great design. Looking back, I realized I wasn’t just creating beautiful spaces, I was learning a way of seeing the world that still shapes everything I love today.
